Red, White & Lewisville Fireworks show
Monday, July 4, 9:30 p.m.
The city’s annual fireworks show, Red White & Lewisville, will return on Monday, July 4. The same launch site will be used as in the past several years, and the best viewing areas are between State Highway 121 and the south side of Vista Ridge Mall. The show is scheduled to start after sunset, about 9:30 p.m. For more information call 972.219.3401.

 

Celebrate America’s freedom with the Town of Flower Mound at Independence Fest, Monday July 4, 2016, presented by Market Street!
Headlined by Loverboy, Independence Fest 2016 will continue to build on the success of previous years to be a great day of celebration, and, as always, admission and parking are FREE!

A full day of activities begins with the annual Children’s Parade at the Lewisville ISD School Administration Building, 1800 Timber Creek Rd., and concludes with a fantastic fireworks finale at around 9:50 p.m. that follows the free concert featuring Loverboy at Bakersfield Park. Gates open at 5 p.m. Please note there will be no on site parking.

Independence Fest 2016 will also see a performance from crowd favorite Le Freak, plus a vintage car show, a showcase of our local businesses, food and drinks for the whole family, and a completely FREE Kid’s Zone complete with bounce houses, face painting, and more.

 

Liberty By The Lake, The Colony

This signature Independence Day tradition includes live music, parade, children’s activities, business vendors, fun run/walk, salsa shootout and a fireworks finale that rivals any in North Texas. Local restaurants and food vendors will also be on-site selling a variety of fares. Recommended Safety Tips
from The National Council on Fireworks Safety

  • Obey all local laws regarding the use of fireworks.
  • Know your fireworks; read the cautionary labels and performance descriptions before igniting.
  • A responsible adult SHOULD supervise all firework activities.  Never give fireworks to children.
  • Alcohol and fireworks do not mix.  Save your alcohol for after the show.
  • Wear safety glasses when shooting fireworks.
  • Light one firework at a time and then quickly move away.
  • Use fireworks OUTDOORS in a clear area; away from buildings and vehicles.
  • Never relight a “dud” firework.  Wait 20 minutes and then soak it in a bucket of water.
  • Always have a bucket of water and charged water hose nearby.
  • Never carry fireworks in your POCKET or shoot them into METAL or GLASS containers.
  • Do not experiment with homemade fireworks.
  • Dispose of spent fireworks by wetting them down and place in a metal trash can away from any building or combustible materials until the next day.
  • FAA regulations PROHIBIT the possession and transportation of fireworks in your checked baggage or carry-on luggage.
  • Report illegal explosives, like M-80s and quarter sticks, to the fire or police department.
